So, I thought that the children have been making Rajma-Rajma for a long time, so tomorrow I will make only Rajma. Now you know that the food in our house is made only in Punjabi style and when there is a desire to eat something good, the name of Rajma Masala Recipe comes first among the vegetables.

Ask the children what they should cook for food, then Rajma Chawal is the first name given to them. Kids love Rajma Chawal so much that they are ready to do anything for it. So tomorrow we will celebrate the festival of Holi by eating Rajma Chawal. Everyone likes to eat Rajma Masala Recipe with rice, but we can also eat it with roti or paranthas.

Today I will teach you how to make Rajma Masala, that too in Punjabi style in a very easy way. So, friends, for this you will have to do some preparation in advance, as if all the ingredients are available with you, I am giving the list of ingredients below. To make Rajma, it has to be soaked for some time, apart from this, I am going to tell you all the preparations that have to be done in my recipe.

So let us first start making Rajma.

Rajma - 1 cup
Water - 4 cups
Salt to taste
Green chili - 2
Onions – 3-4
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Red chili powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - one and a half teaspoon
Black pepper - half teaspoon
Tomato - 5
Green Coriander

Easy Punjabi Style Recipe for Rajma

First, we will take Rajma and put it in a vessel and wash it. After this, add water to the vessel in which we have put Rajma and soak it for at least 6 hours and keep it at a different place, note that if you have time, you can soak Rajma for more than 6 hours or even overnight. Can be kept for soaking. The advantage of soaking overnight is that our kidney beans swell up and become soft due to which they get cooked quickly.


Now we have to take a cooker and put our soaked Rajma in it and add water as well. Along with this, add 1 teaspoon of salt in it.

After putting all the ingredients in the cooker, close the cooker and put it on the gas and light the gas.

Keep the gas on high flame and cook Rajma till 3 whistles.

After 3 whistles, reduce the flame of the gas and let the kidney beans cook for 5-6 minutes on low flame.

Till the time our kidney beans are cooked, we make onion and tomato paste. For this we will need a mixer. First, we grate onion and ginger, and make a paste by grinding green chilies, garlic, and tomatoes in a mixie.

Now let's prepare the tadka for Rajma. For this take a pan and put it on the gas, light the gas. Let the pan get hot, when the pan gets hot, add 2-3 tbsp oil in it.

When the oil becomes hot, put onion paste in it and fry it by keeping the gas on low flame.

Now we put half a teaspoon of salt, turmeric, red chili, coriander powder in it and roast it further. The onion paste has to be roasted well on low flame, otherwise Rajma will not be good.

Now we will add tomato paste to it and roast it further.

When oil starts coming on top of our paste, then understand that our tempering is ready, turn off the gas.

Now we look at Rajma, to check Rajma, press one Rajma with your hand to see if it is cooked or not, if not cooked, give Rajma one more whistle and if it is cooked then we will add Onion-Tomato paste.

Put the pan on the gas, mix the kidney beans and onion-tomato paste well and bring it to a boil. Now see if the gravy of Rajma has become fine, then take the pan off the gas and turn off the gas.
